Unfinished White Oak Installation
C.C., a homeowner in Manhattan, NY, decided to update their floors with a fresh hardwood installation. They chose unfinished 5” white oak planks to create a classic, timeless look for their 230-square-foot space. Our team at Wood Flooring Masters was called in to handle the entire process, from installation to sanding and refinishing. The choice of unfinished wood allowed for a custom finish that highlights the natural beauty of the white oak.
Sanding and Refinishing for a Flawless Finish
After the new white oak hardwood was installed, the next step was sanding. Sanding is crucial in ensuring that the surface of the wood is smooth, even, and free from any imperfections. Our sanding process removed any rough spots, preparing the floors for the final finish. Once the floors were perfectly sanded, we applied three coats of water-based polyurethane. This polyurethane finish is both durable and environmentally friendly, providing a protective layer that enhances the natural beauty of the white oak.
