Project Overview
Natural Finish in Turnersville was the focus of a recent hardwood floor renovation for our customer, D.M. With 1,317 square feet of hardwood flooring, including two small hallways, a foyer, and 13 steps (treads and risers), D.M. wanted to preserve the natural beauty of the wood. Our team provided sanding and refinishing services to create a durable, long-lasting finish.
Sanding and Refinishing the Floors
To begin, we sanded the entire 1,317 sq ft of flooring, including the hallways, foyer, and stairs. Sanding is essential to removing old finishes and imperfections, creating a smooth and clean surface. This step ensures the wood’s natural grain and texture are highlighted when the refinishing process begins. Once sanded, we moved on to applying the refinishing materials.

Water-Based Polyurethane for Protection
After sanding, we applied three coats of water-based polyurethane. This protective layer helps seal the wood and ensures it stays looking fresh for years. Water-based polyurethane is an excellent choice because it dries quickly and leaves a clear finish that doesn’t yellow, making it perfect for maintaining the natural look of the hardwood floors.
Satin Finish for a Subtle Shine
The final step in the renovation was applying a satin finish. This finish provides a soft and elegant shine that enhances the wood’s natural beauty without being too glossy. A satin finish is ideal for high-traffic areas like hallways and stairs, as it is easy to maintain and adds a sophisticated touch to the hardwood floors.
