Three Coats of Water-Based Polyurethane with Semi-Gloss Finish
After staining, we applied three coats of water-based polyurethane to provide a protective layer and enhance the finish. Water-based polyurethane is known for its durability, quick drying time, and low odor. It provides a clear, glossy finish that makes the Red Mahogany stain pop. M.C. chose a semi-gloss finish, which offers the perfect balance of shine without being too reflective, giving the floors a polished, elegant look while still maintaining a natural feel.
