The job involved sanding and refinishing 155 sq ft of existing wood floors and replacing damaged boards. We started by removing several sections of rotten hardwood flooring and replaced them with brand-new 2-1/4″ Red Oak Number 1 hardwood—a top choice for NYC homes. After repairs, we sanded the entire floor to create a smooth surface. The customer chose a natural finish with no stain or color change, which lets the beauty of the red oak shine through. We applied three coats of water-based polyurethane with a satin sheen. This finish is fast-drying, low in odor, and eco-friendly—making it perfect for New York apartments. A satin finish polyurethane helps hide dust and small scratches while offering long-term protection.
