Unfinished Hardwood Installation
P.B. from Maspeth, Queens, decided to upgrade their floors with a beautiful red oak hardwood installation. The project involved installing 710 sq ft of unfinished hardwood over the existing floor. Unfinished hardwood allows for a customizable look, as the wood can be stained to match any decor. This step of the renovation was crucial to achieve a tailored and personalized finish.
Sanding for Smooth Perfection
Once the unfinished hardwood was installed, the next step was sanding. Sanding is essential for ensuring that the surface is smooth and even, creating the perfect foundation for staining and finishing. Our team carefully sanded the entire 710 sq ft area, including 13 steps, to remove any imperfections and create a flawless surface for the next steps of the renovation.

Custom Staining to Match Style
After sanding, the next phase was staining. P.B. selected a stain color that would complement their home’s interior design. Staining brings out the natural beauty of the wood and adds depth and richness. By choosing the perfect stain, P.B. ensured that their floors would have a unique and personal look. We applied the stain evenly to the 710 sq ft of flooring, highlighting the grain of the red oak.
Finishing Touch with Water-Based Polyurethane
The final step in the renovation process was applying three coats of water-based polyurethane. This durable finish protects the floor from wear and tear, ensuring that the floors will stay beautiful for years to come. The semi-gloss finish was chosen for its balance between a polished look and practicality. It adds shine without being overly reflective, perfect for both aesthetics and ease of maintenance.
