Sanding for a Fresh Start
Wood Flooring Masters was hired by A.S. for a hardwood floor renovation project in their Manhattan home, located on 5th Ave, NY. The project involved sanding and refinishing 150 square feet of hardwood floors. Sanding is the first and most important step in any hardwood floor renovation. It removes any old finishes, scratches, and dirt, creating a smooth surface for the next steps. Our team ensured that the floor was properly sanded, allowing the natural beauty of the wood to shine through.
Repairing Engineered Wood
A.S. also needed repairs for a section of 50 square feet of engineered wood flooring, 3.5″ wide. Engineered wood is designed for durability, but sometimes repairs are necessary. We carefully replaced or restored the damaged sections to ensure the floor was seamless and structurally sound. After the repairs were completed, the entire floor was sanded to create a uniform look across the entire area, blending the repaired sections perfectly with the rest of the floor.

A.S. chose to keep the natural color of the wood without any stain. This choice allowed the natural grain and beauty of the wood to be highlighted. Natural wood finishes are a great option for those who prefer a timeless and classic look. After sanding, the wood was treated with three coats of water-based polyurethane. This finish provides long-lasting protection while maintaining a clear, clean look that enhances the wood’s natural appearance.
