Introduction to the Project
Hardwood floor sanding and refinishing in Wyndmoor is a great way to revitalize your home’s floors, and that’s exactly what we did for P.F. at 7714 Queen St. P.F. reached out to us for help with two rooms totaling 356.5 sq ft. The project involved sanding, refinishing, and applying a protective coat to restore the floors. Our team at Wood Flooring Masters carefully worked to bring the natural beauty of the wood back to life.
Sanding and Refinishing Process
Sanding is the first and most crucial step in the refinishing process. In P.F.’s home, we carefully sanded the entire floor area to remove old finishes, dirt, and any imperfections. Sanding also helps smooth out the wood surface and ensures that the new finish will be applied evenly. After sanding, we proceeded with refinishing to restore the wood’s beauty. The refinishing process gave the floors a fresh, clean look, highlighting the wood’s natural grain and texture.

Wood Filler for Gaps
As part of the renovation, we filled any gaps between the floorboards using a high-quality wood filler. This step is essential for ensuring a smooth and uniform surface. Gaps in hardwood floors can occur naturally over time due to changes in temperature and humidity. By filling these gaps, we ensured that P.F.’s floors were not only visually appealing but also structurally sound.
Polyurethane Coating for Protection
Once sanding and refinishing were completed, we applied three coats of water-based polyurethane to protect the newly refinished floors. This type of polyurethane provides a clear, durable layer that shields the wood from daily wear and tear. The water-based formula dries quickly and preserves the natural appearance of the wood, as P.F. chose a natural finish with no stain or color change. The result is a floor that looks fresh, feels smooth, and will last for many years.
