Floor Sanding and Refinishing in the Upper East Side
Wood Flooring Masters had the pleasure of working with R.E. in the Upper East Side of Manhattan to restore and beautify their hardwood floors. The project involved sanding, staining, and refinishing multiple areas of their home, totaling over 458 square feet. The work was completed in stages across the living room, bedroom, dining area, and dressing area. Our team ensured each space was carefully prepared and finished to provide long-lasting beauty and durability.
Staining with Dark Walnut and Jacobean Shades
R.E. selected a custom stain combination for the floors, choosing Dark Walnut, Medium Brown, and Jacobean to achieve a rich and elegant look. The mixture of these deep, luxurious tones brought out the natural grain of the wood while providing a classic finish. Staining the floors added depth and warmth, giving the space a welcoming, stylish ambiance that complements R.E.’s design preferences.

Three Coats of Water-Based Polyurethane
To protect the newly stained floors and ensure their longevity, we applied three coats of water-based polyurethane. Water-based poly is known for its durability, low odor, and quick drying time, making it the ideal finish for residential spaces. The three coats created a protective shield that helps guard the floors against scratches, stains, and everyday wear, maintaining the beauty of the hardwood for years.
Efficient and Dust-Free Sanding Process
Our sanding process was done efficiently and with minimal disruption to R.E.’s home. Using a dustless sanding system, we were able to remove the old finish while keeping the home clean. This system helps prevent dust from spreading throughout the house, ensuring a cleaner environment during the renovation. After the sanding was complete, the floors were refinished with the chosen stain and polyurethane, resulting in a smooth and even surface.
