How We Do It? – Vinyl Installation
1) Surface Preparation
We prepare the surface to be flat, clean, and dry, assessing the subfloor for any imperfections that need correction. If needed, we repair any uneven areas to ensure proper installation. This step is crucial to prevent expansion or contraction after installation, ensuring a smooth and lasting floor. Before we start we ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and level.
2) Measure & Plan Layout
We take accurate measurements to determine the square footage and plan cuts around doorways, corners, and edges. We lay out the vinyl without adhesive to check the fit and alignment.
3) Cut the Vinyl
Mark & Cut: We use a utility knife or vinyl cutter to make precise cuts based on our measurements. We carefully cut around any vents, pipes, or other obstacles.
4) Apply Adhesive (Glue) or Use Click-Lock System
Adhesive (if needed): If adhesive is required, we spread it in sections and press the vinyl into place.
Click-Lock: For floating vinyl, we click the planks or tiles together to create a seamless fit.
5) Install the Vinyl
Roll the Vinyl: We use a floor roller to press out any air bubbles and ensure a strong bond. Secure the Edges: We roll over the edges and seams to make sure everything is tightly sealed.
6) Baseboards and Final Touches
After installing the vinyl planks, we place transition strips at doorways and install baseboards (optional) to create a seamless look while covering any expansion gaps. We also perform a final cleanup before handing over the project. For more information about trimming, please visit this page. We recommend allowing the flooring to settle for 24 hours before heavy use to ensure durability and appearance.
