Project Overview

B.L. contacted Wood Flooring Masters to revitalize the floors in their 2800 sq ft home located in Massapequa, NY. The project involved sanding, staining, and refinishing floors throughout the entire house, along with several additional refinishing tasks. The goal was to replace worn carpets with beautiful, durable wood flooring that would not only improve the aesthetic appeal but also stand the test of time.

Additionally, 13 metal heat covers were replaced with wood, and railing tops were refinished to match the updated flooring. This project involved detailed craftsmanship and a focus on quality finishes to ensure that every element of the home was restored to its full potential.

The Process

Sanding the Floors:
The first step in the transformation was sanding the existing floors to remove any imperfections and old finishes. Our team meticulously sanded each area to create a smooth, even surface, ensuring that the new stain and finish would adhere properly.

Staining:
B.L. chose a custom stain color to complement the home’s design. We applied the stain carefully, allowing the natural beauty of the wood to shine through. The stain was designed to enhance the texture and grain of the wood while ensuring that it matched the overall style of the home.

Refinishing with Polyurethane:
Once the stain had dried, we applied three coats of water-based polyurethane. The satin finish selected by B.L. provides a smooth, elegant look that offers both shine and durability. This finish ensures that the floors will remain beautiful and functional for years to come.

Additional Custom Touches:
In addition to the flooring, we also replaced 13 metal heat covers with custom wood covers, blending them seamlessly with the newly refinished floors. The tops of the railings were also refinished, providing a consistent and cohesive look throughout the home.
