Sanding and Restoring Hardwood Floors
At Wood Flooring Masters, we were thrilled to work on a 700 sq ft hardwood floor renovation for A.W.L. in Yorkville, Manhattan. The first step in this renovation was sanding the entire floor. Sanding removes old finishes, dirt, and scratches, creating a smooth surface for the next steps. This is an essential part of hardwood floor refinishing, ensuring a long-lasting, beautiful finish.
Custom Staining for a Timeless Look
Once the floor was sanded, we moved on to the staining process. A.W.L. chose between two beautiful stain options: Natural or Driftwood. Staining enhances the wood’s natural grain, adding richness and depth to the hardwood floors. The stain also protects the wood, helping it stand up to daily wear and tear. With the right stain, the hardwood floors were transformed, giving the entire room a refreshed and sophisticated look.

Applying Polyurethane for Durability
After staining, we applied three coats of water-based polyurethane. Polyurethane is essential in protecting the hardwood floor from scratches, spills, and other forms of damage. Our choice of water-based polyurethane provided a clear, satin finish that enhances the natural beauty of the wood. This finish not only ensures durability but also gives the floor a glossy, elegant appearance that lasts for years.
Quality Materials and Expert Craftsmanship
Throughout the project, we used the best materials and techniques to deliver a high-quality result. The combination of sanding, staining, refinishing, and applying a protective polyurethane finish ensures that A.W.L.’s floors are not only stunning but also durable. Our expert craftsmen paid attention to every detail, ensuring that each step of the process contributed to a flawless result that will stand the test of time.
