Sanding for a Smooth Surface
Wood Flooring Masters was hired by C.Z. for a hardwood floor renovation project in their home on Thornton Pl, Queens, NY. The project involved sanding, staining, and refinishing 750 square feet of hardwood flooring. Sanding is an essential part of the renovation process, as it helps remove old finishes, scratches, and dirt, leaving a smooth, even surface. Our team carefully sanded the entire area, preparing the floor for the next steps in the renovation.
Custom Staining for a Personalized Look
After sanding, C.Z. chose a custom stain to enhance the natural beauty of their hardwood floors. Staining the wood not only adds rich color but also brings out the grain and texture of the wood. The stain was applied carefully to ensure an even finish, bringing a personalized touch to the floor that perfectly matched C.Z.’s vision for the space. Staining is a great way to transform the look of hardwood floors, giving them a fresh, updated appearance.

Water-Based Polyurethane for Protection
Once the stain was applied and had dried, we moved on to the finishing process. C.Z. selected three coats of water-based polyurethane for the protective finish. Water-based polyurethane is an excellent choice because it dries quickly and provides a clear, durable finish that helps protect the wood from everyday wear and tear. The three coats ensure long-lasting protection while keeping the floor looking beautiful and shiny.
Refinished Hardwood Floors That Shine
After the sanding, staining, and refinishing, C.Z.’s 750 square feet of hardwood flooring looked brand new. The natural beauty of the wood was enhanced with the custom stain, and the water-based polyurethane finish gave the floor a sleek, glossy appearance. The final result is a beautifully restored floor that will continue to shine for many years.
