The goal was to replace the old carpet with stunning, prefinished hardwood floors. With the removal of the carpet, we prepared the space for the installation of the beautiful Aged Lodge Oak 3-inch wide, 3/4-inch thick solid hardwood planks, offering both durability and elegance.
Step-by-Step Floor Refinishing and Molding Installation
As part of the project, C.R. requested that 18 steps be refinished. We focused on sanding and refinishing the tops of these steps, followed by staining to match the new flooring. This careful attention to detail ensured that the steps blended seamlessly with the newly installed hardwood floors. Additionally, we removed and reinstalled the existing moldings to maintain the home’s original charm while enhancing its overall aesthetic.

Flooring Material and Subfloor Installation
The new prefinished hardwood planks used in this renovation were made from Aged Lodge Oak, which adds a touch of sophistication with its wirebrushed finish. The material was purchased through Wood Flooring Masters, known for its high-quality selection. Along with the hardwood installation, we installed new plywood subflooring for a solid and smooth foundation. The floor size was 240 square feet, ensuring the space was perfectly covered and supported.
Quarter Molding for Closets and Final Touches
To complete the transformation, we installed quarter molding in the closets, adding a refined touch that tied the entire project together. This final detail gave the floors a polished look while ensuring every part of the home had cohesive, high-quality finishes.
