Staining with Bona Domo
To add elegance to the new hardwood steps, E.S. chose the Bona Domo stain. This stain is known for its deep, rich color, which enhances the natural beauty of Red Oak. The Bona Domo stain provides a sophisticated finish, bringing out the wood’s grain while giving the steps a modern, luxurious appearance. The stain was carefully applied, ensuring an even and consistent color across all 13 steps.
Applying Polyurethane for Protection
After staining, three coats of water-based polyurethane were applied to the steps. This clear protective finish helps protect the wood from scratches and daily wear. Water-based polyurethane was chosen for its quick drying time and its ability to provide a clear finish that doesn’t yellow over time. The three coats created a strong, durable surface, ensuring that the steps remain beautiful for years to come.
