Introduction to the Project
Engineered hardwood flooring is a popular choice for many homeowners looking for durability, beauty, and easy maintenance. In this renovation story, we highlight the installation of engineered hardwood at the home of our customer R.L. located in Manhattan, NY. The project involved installing a high-quality engineered hardwood floor across 1,300 square feet of space, including the living room, dining room, hallway, and kitchen. The customer wanted a stylish, long-lasting floor that would look great and be easy to maintain.
The Flooring Service: Engineered Hardwood Installation
R.L.’s flooring project involved installing engineered hardwood on top of the existing parquet floor. Engineered hardwood is a perfect solution when you’re looking to upgrade your space without completely removing the old flooring. The installation process included gluing down the engineered hardwood boards to ensure they would stay secure. To prepare for the installation, we sanded the original floor just once to remove the varnish, providing a smooth surface for the new flooring to adhere properly.

Materials Used for the Installation
For this project, R.L. selected high-quality engineered hardwood, known for its durability and modern look. Engineered hardwood consists of multiple layers, with a solid wood veneer on top for an authentic appearance. This material is perfect for high-traffic areas like kitchens and hallways. We used glue for the installation, which ensured the boards were securely fixed to the surface. In addition, we applied a self-leveling compound to ensure the floor was perfectly even and smooth, making the final result look flawless.
The Areas Renovated
The renovation covered a large area, with 1,300 square feet of flooring being installed throughout key spaces in R.L.’s home. The living room and dining area benefited from the warm, rich look of engineered hardwood, enhancing the aesthetic of the open-plan space. The hallway and kitchen were also renovated, with engineered hardwood providing a durable and easy-to-clean solution for these high-traffic zones. The new floor is not only beautiful but also practical, ensuring that R.L. will enjoy a long-lasting, low-maintenance floor for many years.
