A.P. of Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, recently chose Wood Flooring Masters for a complete hardwood floor makeover in their beautiful home. With a spacious first and second floor totaling 787.1 sq ft, plus an extra 288 sq ft, A.P.’s floors were due for a transformation. The project involved sanding, staining, and refinishing the floors, including refinishing the 14 steps leading to the upper level.

A.P. decided on a Provincial stain, which perfectly complemented their home’s classic Brooklyn charm. The flooring was then sealed with 3 coats of water-based polyurethane, resulting in a beautiful, durable, and low-maintenance finish that brings out the natural grain of the wood in a stunning matte finish.

The Flooring Process

Wood Flooring Masters took great care to ensure the best results for A.P.’s floors. Here’s a breakdown of the tailored process:

Sanding: The existing finish was removed to restore the wood’s natural beauty. Our team used high-grade sanding equipment to ensure a smooth, even surface, ideal for the next steps in refinishing.

Staining: A rich Provincial stain was applied to the floors, giving the wood a deep, sophisticated hue that enhances its natural texture. The Provincial stain is perfect for homes like A.P.’s in Boerum Hill, adding warmth while maintaining the aesthetic character of the space.

Polyurethane Application: To protect and seal the wood, we applied 3 coats of water-based polyurethane, a product known for its clarity and durability. The matte finish was chosen to provide a subtle sheen while enhancing the wood’s natural beauty without overwhelming the space.

Refinishing Steps: The 14 steps were refinished with care, focusing on the tops for a pristine, fresh look. This meticulous attention to detail ensured that even the most trafficked areas in A.P.’s home were restored to perfection.
