J.S. contacted us to refresh the flooring in their charming apartment located at 103 E 10th Street in Ukrainian Village, Manhattan. The goal was to transform 400 sq ft of existing hardwood into a bright, clean, and modern-looking space using a whitewash effect that would suit the character of the neighborhood.
Project Process and Products Used
We began by sanding the entire surface thoroughly to prepare it for refinishing. Next, we applied three coats of Bona Nordic Seal, a product known for achieving a soft, Scandinavian-style whitewashed appearance while preserving the wood’s natural texture. To enhance durability, especially in an active Manhattan home, we followed up with three coats of water-based polyurethane and completed the look with a satin finish for a smooth, elegant touch.
