Floor Refinishing in Bronx
At Wood Flooring Masters, we recently completed a large hardwood floor refinishing project for our customer A.D. at 571 West 231st Street in Spuyten Duyvil, Bronx. The project covered 1,167 sq ft of flooring, including the living room, dining room, primary bedroom, two additional bedrooms, and five closets. We also refinished 12 hardwood steps. The existing floors had visible wear and uneven color. Our goal was to restore the wood’s beauty and apply a fresh, durable finish that matched the customer’s style.
Sanding for a Fresh Start
We began with a full sanding of the wood floors and stairs to remove the old finish and surface scratches. Sanding is a key part of any wood floor refinishing job. Special Walnut Stain and Satin Finish
After sanding, A.D. chose Special Walnut stain, a warm, medium-brown color that works well in both traditional and modern spaces. Once the stain dried, we applied three coats of water-based polyurethane in a satin finish. This finish protects the wood while giving it a soft, natural glow. Water-based polyurethane is a popular choice in NYC because it dries fast, has low odor, and doesn’t yellow over time.
