Preparing the Floors for a Fresh Start
Our project for D.V. in Manhattan began with 300 sq ft of hardwood flooring in need of attention. We carefully assessed the space, which included both the living room and junior bedroom. The preparation stage also included repairing 15 sq ft of parquet and subfloor, using high-quality materials to ensure a strong foundation for the new finish.

One key aspect of this renovation was repairing the damaged parquet and subfloor. This step involved replacing the necessary sections to restore the floor’s integrity and create a smooth surface for refinishing. Proper care during this process ensured the floors would look flawless once completed.

Sanding and Custom Staining
To bring out the beauty of the hardwood, we sanded the floors thoroughly, removing the old finish and imperfections. The customer chose two custom stains to enhance their home’s aesthetic: a Natural 209 stain for both rooms and a Red Oak 215 stain specifically for the junior bedroom. We applied one coat of each stain, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Durable Finishes for Every Room
The finishing touches were tailored to the needs of each space. In the living room, we applied three coats of water-based polyurethane in a satin finish, providing a subtle sheen that complements the room’s elegance. For the junior bedroom, we used a semi-gloss finish, adding a touch of shine to enhance the stained Red Oak 215 color. This combination ensured durability and beauty for high-traffic areas in the home.
